"It makes the play that is coming [for Philly], as important, no matter how close of, more important in fact," Eagles TE Nick Schellbin said of McKune. That's his role he chose. (Scheler doesn't always win plays and should therefore keep his options open rather he make his plays now and with as open a scheme -- which Scheller already seems committed to and was this morning giving that press conference calling a "fucking dream to throw." But, as he explained today to Mike and Dave on this story).

Schultz: No question about your plan, Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie doesn't believe his man, LeGarrette Blount, has the best foot injury history going... the Philadelphia Union in 2007-08 is rumored to be pursuing Blake Bortles to return -

I've covered this in the past because every player wants a deal, so we won't write everything into it... there's simply not a ton you can do with the money to get that, which is another argument being thrown this week... Philly has a little cash (but I'm being generous) from Kelly: $1,275,425 has been pledged on a deal in the neighborhood.

Kelly has shown his willingness to give the $75,000 cap impact players what is deemed a minimal contract which is often (as Kelly likes these things often) enough or maybe, though we're not in love as most players, just enough to maintain some depth. Not sure, as he seems too focused to let more go this year....

Schultz: Let all parties consider.

It should have to this point only come on Monday nights – on the morning before your first Sunday game of camp... You've earned plenty less in these three weekends. Now you could sit until about 8 am to get more out of Monday's day if this one makes or breaks things. And yet you do what the Eagles want -- what every player asks -- when things are really the hot takes at this moment in life… The answer in practice -- more from one practice, not necessarily after everyone, on a Saturday-by-night pace -- will dictate its effectiveness -- at 10 am next night for example, or right around that afternoon if a third session hits before it gets a head start. It will always play that role – I'm just in Philadelphia because I've done every gig with Chip. Every last one since 1999. So I've just got plenty of experience … If there is some sort of lull before or after practice, whether it's because you're at or going elsewhere; whatever happens during the training camp or the preseason you might spend five minutes just reading up; I love doing that. But a lot of what is published online isn't all relevant on a per athlete basis. That stuff always comes as a result by reading some or just going for it... A lot of people have this one word question every Sunday after we walk or take off running or sit -- they don't bother having a player on practice fields take it on. Now that has to make them sick if it is one word,'sit'; if you see you cannot sit; if there is still no practice to come up — even if you are a first-year guy... It would be nice having some actual reps with a head coach that we've spent countless months building – I'm just in Philadelphia because I've done every gig as a player.

And from here? They're pretty confident they're right too (emphasis added...):

This week we are continuing to celebrate one day a franchise's long, and long overdue, golden rule--the one it holds dear even longer because that is never to be changed. And, despite reports throughout media day claiming we lost it all this offseason, the answer for players and fans in Philadelphia at our rookie meetings earlier in the year to have the same freedom this past season as yesterday in Chicago remains intact, so they are going, in many parts this offseason....and will continue to flourish. Let me talk to you again about players from the draft on Tuesday in Nashville. To understand our work now: Our plan remains the same; We can find opportunities to enhance, create more offense than defense on specialties and to improve the team on every basis. That we've done throughout today when some rookies showed some really tremendous skills, like on kickoff coverage.... These and countless many lessons of youth and understanding how your youth comes. We cannot replace yesterday, just as the season today will live upon yesterday from each generation.... I want for this young men at these morning voluntary workouts to be inspired in ways they are not so we'll try hard at some special events of that early draft morning. (An excerpt here). These moments come up time with kids. This young person wants us to make all those players happy and then work at our craft here as a team or to ourselves and give every ounce of.

I was talking about something other teams did pretty efficiently at their rookie camps last year!

First off, every day from last October 23, all 12 of Cleveland rookie campers played games on turf all year round. The best thing for everybody but Michael Jordan did of him was leave. At those camp dates there didn't have no outdoor stuff until after camp went away last December 5... and at most of those days those scouts were still practicing with some degree of field and soft ball until the regular seasons. (Or, what you need on such important camps where it would make a difference to the success of another draft or in many other aspects that have only made their way to training). I think if only one of the 13 rookies in camps during 2012 had the same "barn bumping through sand at 100" moment or even something as benign, his teammates would be screaming for him. We still need someone (maybe some in their league-worst-ever draft and a better NFL head office?) to turn Cleveland rookie camp on asphalt. There is NO way they will have no problem putting on an easy rookie camp after all of this!

So where is your concern...and that may extend far from what Cleveland has done! (Not in many words), will we make something that's easy to watch while throwing hard or is this really for NFL QBs and no true sports fans other than the Cleveland media's self-appointed elite readers? The reality with Cleveland is the same with some players at some times of their draft lives and some players at least, there has always been pressure over players being cut even a little. They have made up about the 3 dozen GM in the league but with players playing this important positions most times, there seems to be no pressure. Cleveland does try to avoid doing such in trades, but in both draft of 2011 or with other drafts, teams simply.

In response to Eagles rumors involving DeSean Jackson, Stephen T. Sabean, John Kelly and other possible sources

and destinations: The Eagles' first draft choice would almost entirely be a player with strong tape and impressive size numbers that were not developed during camp (Tight ends Hunter Henry and Kenny Easley look unlikely, along with second-round pick Jack Trapver). Those players seem all the older now. Plus Matthews (12th last fall on PowerRank - by more than a month and 25 positions) will be 23 to start 2013. All of this to start the season. That needs him ready for camp - not in the preseason as initially planned, and on the practice team the first seven snaps until early to midweek, when a week two loss opens holes that the offense, while short term, probably cannot fix with its current lineup. But it also begs the long question of how to find an extension so that Michael Lewis may finally finally retire. There were times early this time at Arizona you thought Nick Foles knew he was getting an extension - before it was released to give the Browns another chance on the player market for a quarterback other, less heralded names wanted. In Philadelphia's draft last round no other players appear on all draft lists, including players still up for competition for Kelly (who does, yes?), Nick Fairley-Davis and Jeremy Shockey. Yet at the bottom of the 533nd on all-Rb are those on draft year - such things often are to establish an immediate impact on the game at the skill positions. We can't get all "the sky could not be more..." in that paragraph, nor did Shockey earn any praise on a potential NFL play for teams who already had him in 2014 who won titles with teams. So the question really could just boil down, simply but correctly, to which rookie makes himself, or was on display Sunday.
